The Editors
Manon Rhys was the first woman to undertake the editorship of Taliesin. As a creative writer she has considerable experience; in 1988 she published a volume of short stories, Cwtsho, followed by three novels, Cysgodion (1993), Tridiau ac Angladd Cocrotshen (1996) and Book of the Year short–listed Rara Avis (2005). She has published an adaptation of her father Kitchener Davies’s play, Cwm Glo (1994). She also writes for television: her words are often spoken by the inhabitants of Cwmderi in Pobol y Cwm, and she is also responsible for the S4C television series, Y Palmant Aur.
Christine James is a lecturer in the Department of Welsh at the University of Wales, Swansea. She has wide experience of discussing Welsh literature throughout the ages in an academic context. Christine James’s own personal research has been in the field of Medieval Welsh Literature, especially the Laws of Hywel Dda and aspects of the literature of Glamorgan. She is also the editor of Cerddi Gwenallt: Y Casgliad Cyflawn (Gwasg Gomer). Winner of the Crown at the 2005 National Eisteddfod in Snowdonia.
