Cardiff welcomes two poets from Canada, Rob McLennan and Stephen Brockwell, in an evening celebrating poets published by small presses in Canada and Wales. They are joined by J Brookes, poet and editor of the poetry magazine The Yellow Crane. Poet, short–story writer and long-standing member of The Collective Ric Hool will introduce the evening.
Rob McLennan is a familiar face on the Canadian small press scene. He co-ordinates the annual Ottawa Small Press Book Fair, and co-edits the online critical journal http://www.poetics.ca/, with Stephen Brockwell. He is also the author of twelve poetry collections including aubade (Broken Jaw Press, 2006) and his new collection name, an errant (Stride, 2006).
Stephen Brockwell is a Montreal writer currently living in Ottawa. By day he works in information technology, but in his spare time he co-edits http://www.poetics.ca/ and writes poetry. He is the author of The Wire in the Fences (Balmuir Book Publishing, 1988), The Cometology (ECW Press, 2001) and Fruit Fly Geographic (ECW Press, 2004) and regularly contributes to literary magazines.
