The Art of Libretto

Academi and Music Theatre Wales have teamed up to organise a day of talks and workshops on writing for opera. The course is aimed at writers who are interested in finding out more about the libretto and collaborating with composers.

Guest speakers include Lynne Plowman and Martin Riley – a succesful composer-librettist team; David Harsent - poet, crime writer and librettist for Harrison Birtwistle; and Michael Berkeley - an experienced opera composer currently collaborating with Ian McEwan on a new opera for MTW.

The workshop will take place in Cardiff on Wednesday 14 March 2007 at The Gate, Cardiff. Tickets cost £50 / £40 concessions (including Academi Members and Associates).
