The Short List of 3 Welsh-language books and 3 English-language books will be announced at the Elmley Foundation Theatre. At the event, John Rowlands will deliver an adjudication on behalf of the Welsh-language panel and Katie Gramich will deliver an adjudication on behalf of the English-language panel. The Shortlisted authors will discuss their work with Jon Gower and there will be a wine reception and a book signing session at the Literature in Wales stand following the event.
“It was refreshing to be part of a judging process that didn’t involve phoning, texting or pressing a red button. But we still had to nominate so many literary contestants for eviction. And the sheer diversity of their writing made the task extremely difficult,” - those were the comments of Carolyn Hitt, Chair of the English-language panel of judges, at the announcement of the Wales Book of the Year 2007 Long List on 2 March.
However, the judges have now faced the difficult task of selecting three of the ten longlisted books to appear on the Wales Book of the Year 2007 Short List.
