Welsh National Opera’s Open House
Free Literature Talks by Writers

Friday 1 June and Saturday 2 June, 6.00 pm

In association with Academi, the Welsh National Opera’s Open House (31 May – 2 June 2007) will include two free talks by the writers Tony Curtis, Clare Potter, Professor Richard Wilson and WNO Dramaturg Simon Rees.
Friday 1 June 2007
Richard Wilson, Professor of English Literature at Cardiff University, will be speaking on the Devil’s Pact and how it relates to contract law. This will provide the perfect prelude to The Damnation of Faust at 7.15pm.
Saturday 2 June 2007
Writers including Tony Curtis and Clare Potter discuss the portrayal of sin in literature with Simon Rees, WNO Dramaturg. Find out which authors have delved into their favourite sins. This free talk precedes WNO’s double bill - Duke Bluebeard’s Castle at 8.00pm, followed by The Seven Deadly Sins - a collaboration with Diversions.
