The Cardiff International Poetry Competition Prize–giving

The much awaited results of the Cardiff International Poetry Competition 2007 will be announced at a ceremony in Cardiff on Wednesday 6 June 2007. The winners will be announced and awarded their prizes over brunch at a unique ceremony in Brazz Restaurant at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
The Announcement – 10.30 am – Brazz, Wales Millennium Centre
This is your chance to be one of the first people to find out who has won the top prize of £5000 for just one poem in the 2007 Cardiff International Poetry Competition. There are 8 prizes up for grabs with a grand total of £6000 on offer in prize money and tomorrow morning the winners of the cash will be revealed. 2005 Wales Book of the Year winner Owen Sheers will announce the winners in Brazz, Wales Millennium Centre to an audience gripped with anticipation. This is a great opportunity to enjoy first class food while you enjoy prize-winning poetry
The Workshop – 1.00 pm, Seligman Room, Wales Millennium Centre
After the winners have been announced, the prizes awarded and the poems read all while enjoying brunch in Brazz why not take the chance to brush up on your writing skills. Previous Cardiff International Poetry Competition winner and this years’ filter judge Tiffany Atkinson will lead the workshop, which as well as being open to the general public, will also be attended by a number of the prize-wining poets. The workshop is open to everyone no matter whether you’re a poetic novice or have a house full of poetry waiting to be discovered.
