Academi Writing Retreat
with Catherine Merriman

alt

2 - 4 November 2007
Llwyn - Y - Celyn Youth Hostel, Brecon

An opportunity for writers to relax, write, think and talk their way through a long, slow autumn weekend.

Novelist and short story writer Catherine Merriman joins us to take a workshop and to discuss your work-in-progress or help you begin new work. The main focus will be on the craft of fiction but poets and writers in other genres are more than welcome to use the weekend to their own advantage.

Always on these courses we follow in literary footprints; this time they belong to Henry Vaughan who walked the Breconshire hills and lakes and courted his wife in Brecon.

Llwyn - Y - Celyn Youth Hostel is tucked into the peaceful valley below Storey Arms but lies conveniently beside the bus route from Cardiff to Brecon.

Accommodation is in single-sex dormitories; 18 places only.

Fees: £80 (concessions £70) covers tuition, accommodation in Llwyn - Y - Celyn Youth Hostel, supper on Friday night, three meals on Saturday and breakfast & lunch on the Sunday. Book now with a £20 deposit: cheques payable to Academi.

This retreat is part of Academi’s on-going series of writers’ experiences that are taking place in some of Wales’s most beautiful and remote places
