Terry Hetherington

Welsh poet and Academi member Terry Hetherington died in August 2007 at the age of 72 after a short illness. Terry from Neath had been a part of the Welsh poetry scene in Wales since 1980, and his work had been widely published in magazines and anthologies. His book, The Undiminished, was published in 1987. His friend and Swansea Valley councillor Ioan Richard said, “He was a well-liked and published writer and popular poet in the patriotic Anglo-Welsh vein. Many university academics admired his works, yet he was a traditional working man having been a colliery worker".
