Minister Commends Academi Achievements

At a launch in the Academi’s Glyn Jones Centre, the Minister for Heritage Rhodri Glyn Thomas commended the Welsh National Literature Promotion Agency’s activity over the past year. In this report you can read about all of Academi’s projects and events - Wales Book of the Year Award, Cardiff International Poetry Competition, the National Poet of Wales and the BayLit festival to name but a few.

Academi’s Joint Chair John Pikoulis says in his foreword:
It is not too much to say that [Academi] has become a model for how such an agency should operate…Academi makes a vital contribution to the arts, encouraging literary activity of all kinds, both amongst practitioners and members of the general public, and marrying it to a high level of achievement. To judge from this report, the state of Wales is in rude good health.
