A combination of workshops and one-to-one tutorials, within a friendly, supportive environment, will help students to experiment and move forward in their work.
The course will begin with the evening meal at 7pm on Friday evening and finish at 3 pm on Sunday.
Course Fee: £75 (includes accommodation, food and tuition)
Paul Henry is the author of five acclaimed collections of poetry, the most recent of which is Ingrid’s Husband (Seren 2007). Originally a singer-songwriter, he combines freelance writing and lecturing with part-time work as a Careers Adviser. He has read and performed his work widely, in the UK and abroad. He recently presented the ‘Inspired’ series of arts programmes for BBC Radio Wales. Born in Aberystwyth, he now lives in Newport, Gwent.
Niall Griffiths was born in Liverpool in 1966 and, after leaving school at 15, was sent to Snowdonia on an outward bound trip as a teenager after a series of petty crimes. Inspired by his experiences, Niall eventually returned to school and went on to study for an English degree. He gained a PhD at Aberystwyth in post–war British poetry. His novels interweave his love for the Welsh landscape with his experiences as a disaffected youth. His published work includes Stump (Jonathan Cape, 2004) which won the Academi Book of the Year Award in 2004; Real Liverpool (Seren, 2007), and Ten Pound Pom (Parthian) due out in 2008.
