The George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling are seeking an enthusiastic community digital media outreach worker. The Centre, based at The University of Glamorgan’s Atruim campus, works in three principle areas, teaching, research and development and was launched in April 2005.
The post will involve contributing to the work of the University’s George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling in delivering creative digital inclusion activities as a component of the Communities 2.0 initiative. Communities 2.0 is a Digital Inclusion Programme to be delivered in key areas across Wales. It will focus on helping community groups, individuals and social enterprises to undertake digital inclusion activities, enabling them to maximise their own use of technology.
The project will be delivered through a multi-agency partnership including University of Glamorgan, Wales Co-op Centre, Carmarthenshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS) and Novas Scarman Group. As part of the initiative the George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling will be establishing a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Digital Storytelling and participatory media.
The post will be based at the Atrium building in Cardiff, home of the Cardiff School of Creative and Cultural Industries, but the post holder will be expected to travel – especially across South East and South West Wales.
Closing Date: 27th October 2009
