Read the Poem
Though I'm Rhondda born and bred, Cardiff is my
second home -
I lived here for a while.
In student days, I looked around and marvelled at her style.
Some things, like Central Library, admired only
from outside
Because a flight of steps ensured that wheelchair access was denied.
Now its beauty is revealed in full - refurbished with ramps, a
lift and loo -
For the first time ever I can use it too.
That's progress for
you now.
You know, for those of us on wheels
The city's ours too today and wonderful it feels;
Design and vision, old and new, plus
wheelchairs on free loan
No longer outside looking in, we're part of all that's going on.
That's Cardiff for you now.
