The annual Wales Book of the Year prizes, now administered by the Academi, are awarded to the best Welsh language and English language works in the fields of creative writing and literary criticism.

Prizes are awarded for the best books published during the previous calendar year. In 2009, Academi will be responsible for awarding books first published during 2008.
