Gwynedd Literature Promoter

The Academi’s Gwynedd Literature Development Project continues to show what can be achieved when an enlightened local authority and able literary animateurs get together.

Writer and actress Gwen Lasarus James was appointed in early 2003 as the new Development Officer. During the first few months, Gwen visited contacts in Gwynedd to continue with some of the extremely successful projects set up by previous workers. Such activities include Hei Hogia, a bilingual roadshow which encourages teenage boys to read and write their own stories, Bawd, a new colourful magazine focusing on books, authors and reading, and Clwb Darllen y Cofis, a popular Caernarfon–based reading group.

Many other activities, including cynghanedd lesons, Writing Squads etc. continue to go from strength to strength in Gwynedd.
