Short–story writer and performance poet. Based in Cardiff. She has worked as a creative writing /literature tutor with the Open College of the Arts and the Open University and currently teaches with the Centre of Lifelong Learning at Cardiff University. Her special interest is in twentieth-century women’s fiction, particularly the work of Jean Rhys and Angela Carter, as well as contemporary American poetry. Has contributed both poetry and prose to a variety of small press magazines and anthologies. She was awarded a John Downes Award while writing her first novel and is currently working on a collection of short stories centred around Cardiff with the support of a Writer’s Bursary from the Arts Council of Wales. Has written plays and is also working at finishing a film script set in south east Wales. Has a strong interest in women’s performance.
