Poet and freelance writer. Born in Fulham, London; she is a schoolteacher and playworker. She lived in Penegoes near Machynlleth in 1975, at Lower Chapel near Brecon in 1975 and since 1976, has lived in an ex–farmhouse in North Carmarthenshire, working on the organic garden with her husband. She was active in the feminist and anti–war movements, and in childrens’ playwork. She studied religions at St.David’s University College, Lampeter. Janet has published prose and poetry, including three slim volumes. She has three adult children and three grandchildren and works for the British Red Cross. She has written poems and stories for newspapers and magazines, e.g. New Welsh Review. Her poems have been published in anthologies from Chatto, Virago, Freedom, Seren, Aurum, White Adder: on banners (Mary Lloyd Jones); in song (Julie Murphy, www.bejo.co.uk).
