Reviews:
With respect to The Survivor: Poems 1970-1990 (Swansea Poetry Workshop, 1990):

"…these poems strike you anew as having a particular grace. The Survivor will repay re-reading. It is a wise and gentle book…"
New Welsh Review

"...There is a marvellous fluidity of images, puns and rhythms...a fluency of language and free verse forms of these poems which are subtly filled with near rhyme and half rhyme..."
Poetry Wales

"...the passion is a long way below the surface, but it is there, an underground rover feeding the roots of his art...like a tree his work will outlive generations of more exotic plants...his controlled moulding of emotion into serene art..."
Western Mail

With respect to Late Lamps: Poems 1990-1998 (Swansea Poetry Workshop, 2002):

"...Evans has a young mind in an old body, the world still astonishes him; he can’t stop looking and his vision is enhanced by age and experience..."
New Welsh Review

With respect to Paper Songs: Poems 1999-2002 (Swansea Poetry Workshop, 2002):

"...displays an array of mature writing skills, an engaging and organised intelligence and an individual poetic voice...assured and loaded with integrity..."
