William John EvansPoet and writer in both Welsh and English. Born in the Swansea Valley. William was a miner, working underground, for over forty years – an experience which is the inspiration of his book, Pit Memories. Has also written a number of scripts on the subject of safety for the Coal Board. William won a scholarship to Coleg Harlech under the auspices of the National Union of Mineworkers and attended Ruskin College on a scholarship from the Coal Board.
