Writer of feature articles, short stories and poetry. Born in Cardiff in 1932. Following RAF service he worked for the South Wales Constabulary. Subsequent to his retirement in 1982 he wrote a number of feature articles, short stories and poetry; his work appearing variously in publications including Planet, New Welsh Review, Roundyhouse, Salisbuty Review, Country Quest, Western Mail etc. His poetry has  been included in numerous anthologies. He was also a member of the performance poetry group Salem taking part in readings around the world. Basil now lives near Llantrisant, where he is currently the secretary of Scriveners, the Abergavenny-based writers group.
