Poet. Born in London in 1965 of Irish parentage. Carmen lived in the Irish Republic until 1998 and is now a resident of Llanuwchlyn, in north Wales. She is a Welsh–speaker. Her awards include: William Allingham (Donegal Poet, 1997), National Poetry Competition 1996 and winner of the Belfast Literary Festival 2000. Carmen has received scholarships from Poets House in 1992 and from Kerry International Summer School in 1995, 97 and 98. Her work has been published in various journals and magazines including Full Moon, Figments, Inward Eye, Symphonies of the Soul (Poetry Guild), Sunday Tribune (New Irish Writing), The White Page (Twentieth Century Irish Women Poets) and The Marine Times.
