Writer for children, Alison has lived in Wales since 1938. She obtained a BA for Oxford in 1952, and also has a Post–graduate Certificate of Education, London 1953. Fish  (Bodley Head) was published 1970 and became a subsequent television serial. She has published fourteen other children’s books.
