Performance poet. Born in Llantwit Major and educated both there and in Dusseldorf and Berlin, Germany. Jan was first published in 1980 and called "Wales’ wittiest woman writer" by Woman’s Realm magazine. She has read on BBC Wales and appeared on TV with Bernard Manning, Joe Brown, Henry Kelly and Sandra Dickinson. Jan reads to prisons, schools, hospitals, pubs, clubs and anyone who wants to listen, having performed in 176 venues to date. She has also read in Africa with folk duo `Mabsant`, with Mountain Ash rugby choir, Côr Meibion Abercynon, the Burma Star Choir and Caerphilly Choir. Jan runs a busy fancy dress shop and will read in costume.
