Jonathan ShiptonA children’s writer and poet, Jonathan was born in Birmingham in 1948 and has lived and worked in Wales since 1974. His poetry has been published in the following school anthologies: Thoughts like an Ocean (Pont, 1997), Second Thoughts (Pont, 2003), Me (Franklin Watts, 2000), Fire to a Cold World 1 (WJEC, 2001), Fire to a Cold World 2 (WJEC, 2004). He was the winner of the Austrian Children’s Book award 1992, Stitching Nederlandse Kinder Jury Award 1996, was the Picture Book Quarterly prize winner, 1999 and also won the Junior Magazine Book of the Month 2004. His children’s stories have been broadcast on the BBC and on Dutch television.
