WILKINSON, GREG
Graig Fach, Llangennech, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire SA14 8PX. Tel: (01554)759944
Greg experienced Quaker schooling, and did relief work overseas in lieu of national service. He has a BA (Oxon) Arabic, and a M. Ed. (Manchester). A former Reuter correspondent, Greg came to believe that it was better for people to write their own stories than get reported on. He worked in community development, community arts and adult education, and recorded, edited and published Lifetimes, a group autobiography set in a Manchester overspill estate. Greg set up Commonword network of inner city writers’ groups and community publishing service and helped found the National Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers. He organised unemployed writers’ groups and paperback publication in Swindon. Greg is now teaching and editing part–time, running ’Personal History’ courses and editing a journal for Llanelli WEA. He has written Reuter reports, various freelance features and made creative contributions to Lifetimes, Manchester Polytechnic Writing Anthology, Federation of Worker Writers.
