Poet, fiction writer, essayist. Michael was born in 1959 and brought up in London and Christchurch, Dorset. He moved to Wales in 1987. Michael won a Scholarship to St. John’s College, Cambridge in 1978 and a Harper–Wood Travelling Studentship 1982–83, M.A. (Cantab, 1985) and M.Ed. (UWCC, 1995). He lived and worked in Calcutta between 1981-82. Michael was a primary school teacher and headteacher until 1997 in Gwent and Newport, and was assistant tutor to Gillian Clarke at Gwent Writing Squad Sessions, 1996-97. His interests include India and the world’s spiritual traditions: history of printing and publishing: new adventures of publication.
