Rhys HughesBorn in Cardiff in 1966, Rhys still lives in the area. He studied Engineering at university and has worked as an engineer and research officer for various Welsh government agencies. His first publications were chess problems and mathematical puzzles in major U.K. newspapers. Rhys’ first short story appeared in 1992, and since then he has published numerous collections of short stories and novellas. A prolific author of fantastical fiction, his work has been influenced by writers such as Calvino, Borges, Flann O’Brien and Stanislaw Lem, and compared with the fiction of Machen and John Cowper Powys.
