Gwen Madoc was born and still lives in Swansea with her husband Harry and dog Monty. She worked as a medical secretary and managed a medical clinic before joining the Civil Service, but always wanted to be a published writer so she studied for five years with the Open University. She loves Swansea and its people and has a keen interest in local history. Gwen has written eleven novels. The first three for Piatkus Books were written under the name of Doreen Edwards.
