GOWER, IRIS
Website: http://www.iris-gower.co.uk/
Iris Gower was born in Swansea, where she still lives. She weaves her stories around the historical past and a growing Welsh Culture, making the hard facts of the working lives of her characters into tales of passion and pain, defeat and triumphant success. Iris has four children and a growing family of grandchildren. She has been described by a reporter from the Western Mail as "a cross between a sensible grandmother and a feisty heroine".
Iris has written over thirty-five bestselling historical novels with a number of series, including the new Palace Theatre Trilogy. She received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Wales Swansea in 1999 and has been awarded an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cardiff.
