STEVENSON, ANNE

Anne StevensonAnne Stevenson, born in England of American parents, grew up in the States but has lived in Britain for most of her adult life. She spends four months of the year in north Wales. Anne has published twelve collections of poetry, a book of essays, Between the Iceberg and the Ship, a critical study, Five Looks at Elizabeth Bishop, and a biography of Sylvia Plath, Bitter Fame. Her most recent collections are Granny Scarecrow and Report from the Border (both Bloodaxe). In 2002 she was the first recipient of a Northern Rock Foundation Writer Award, the largest UK prize awarded to writers.
