BAXTER, LINDA

In 1990 Linda Baxter gave up teaching Modern Languages in order to write, but suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage which damaged the language centre of her brain. She began the slow and arduous process of re–learning her mother tongue. In 1996 she moved to Wales and found the inspiration to write again. When her son Timo was murdered, writing became a release valve for her grief, pain and anger. Losing Timo (Honno, 2004) is her first full–length published work.
