NICHOLLS, FRED FRANCIS

Fred Nicholls was born near Canterbury, Kent and educated at Blean School, Simon Langton Boys’ School and St Edmund Hall, Oxford. He worked as a reporter and farmhand before settling down in his profession as a teacher of English in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. During World War Two he served for three years in the Royal Navy. He has written extensively for Yachts & Yachting and The Countryman, reflecting his love of the countryside and the sea. He has been a small boat sailor for many years. He lives in Newport, Pembrokeshire.
