REES, ALUN

Award winning sports journalist Alun Rees is also a poet. He has been at the forefront of the left wing Red Poets collective since its inception. Alun has contributed to every one of their annual magazines, and his live readings and no–holds barred style have earned him a reputation as a people’s poet. Audiences in the valleys especially appreciate his stance for the working–class, the dispossessed and the underdog. His poetry is heavily inspired by his upbringing in Merthyr.
