Lynne ReesPoet, novelist and teacher. Born in South Wales in 1958. Worked in banking in Port Talbot and Jersey, before moving to Kent in 1985, where she ran her own second–hand bookshop for twelve years. In 1996 she completed her MA in Writing at the University of Glamorgan and since then her poems, memoir and short stories have been widely anthologised. She runs her own Apple House Poetry Workshops and also teaches creative writing for the University of Kent’s BA Hons Degree programme. In 2004 she was awarded the Faculty of Humanities Prize for innovative and inspiring practices in the teaching of poetry and nominated for a NTFS Teaching Fellowship. She has been writer in residence/visiting writer at a number of secondary schools in Kent, working with 11-18 year olds, is a Member of the Society of Authors and the National Association for Writers in Education, and the recipient of a Hawthornden Fellowship.
