Poet Karen was born in Swansea and currently still resides in the area. Educated at Cardiff University where she studied English Literature and Creative Writing. Her debut poetry collection was published in October 2005. Her work has appeared in various literary magazines and anthologies.

She was first published at the age of nine and went on to win local and national writing competitions. She studied under the tutorage of prolific Welsh poet Hilary Llewellyn Williams, gaining publication in literary magazines and anthologies throughout Britain. Karen also writes under the pseudonym of Petra Page.
