Peter ReadBorn in Rhosllanerchrugug, near Wrexham, educated at the University of Wales Bangor, now lives in Swansea. Peter is a playwright, poet, writer and performance poet who is also a Creative Writing tutor.

He has had five plays staged professionally, including Toshack or Me!, which played to sell out audiences at the Swansea Grand Theatre in 2006 and 2007. The commissioned sequel, To Hull And Back, premieres in February 2008. Many of his plays have grown out of interviewing members of the community who have a story to tell.

He has performed his poetry live at several events in Wales, England, Ireland and America. He has also read his poetry on BBC Radio, BBC TV and ITV and has written for BBC Radio Wales and Radio 4. Peter won the 2007 Academi John Tripp Award for Spoken Poetry on the 28th November, 2007.

He runs creative writing courses and workshops. He has worked in over thirty schools, helping children to write creatively on a many topics including Bullying, The Landscapes and Heritage. In 2007, he founded the Young Writers Squad for talented secondary school writers, and supports the Dylan Thomas Prize for Young Writers.

Peter is also a ghostwriter, writing autobiographies for celebrities and individuals with a story to tell. He is a popular and humorous after dinner speaker. He has played the part of Dylan Thomas over a hundred times and received 5 star reviews two years running (in 2004 and 2005) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for his one-man show, Dylan Thomas in America.
