Frances ThomasFrances Thomas was born in Aberdare, but later moved to London and studied at Queen Mary College, University of London. She recently moved to Llandrindod, Powys. She has written extensively for children, and her books are published by Bloomsbury, Seren, Andersen, Pont, Bodley Head, Macmillan, Hamish Hamilton and Heinemann. She won the Tir na n–Og prize in 1980 with her children’s novel The Blindfold Track. Her first adult novel Seeing Things, was a runner–up for the Whitbread First Novel award in 1986.
