Eigra is a full time author who writes short stories, novels, some poetry, and some radio and television work. She was born in Blaenau Ffestiniog and educated at the University Wales, Bangor. She is now married with three children. Eigra is the winner of four Welsh Literature awards at the local and national Eisteddfod, and she has also won awards for her poetry. The author of fifteen volumes, plays for the radio, stage and television, she writes mainly in the Welsh language.

Eigra’s collection of short stories, Oni Bai (Gomer, 2005), was on the Welsh Book of the Year 2006 longlist.
