Brian LeeBorn and bred in Cardiff author and freelance writer Brian Lee has published 18 books and has reported on the Welsh horse racing scene for the past 42 years. A stereotyper by trade, he has also worked as a steel–worker, book shop assistant, chef, store manager, assistant groundsman, office worker and was co–ordinator of the City Hall-based Historic Records Project. He has written for numerous magazines and newspapers and these include the Western Mail, South Wales Echo, Cardiff Post, Horse & Hound and the Racing Post. A former athlete-long distance runner, he has had his own columns on athletics, horse racing and local history in the national and regional press. A self-taught writer, Brian was influenced by Henry Williamson and has had several short stories published. He has also helped as a researcher and appeared on a number of television and radio programmes such as ’The Tenby Sting’ (Fulmar West ), ’Caroline Street’ (Torpedo), ’Crime Solvers’ (Fulmar West) and ’Wales Observed’ (Telesgop).
