JENKINS, GERAINT H.
Professor Geraint H. Jenkins is the Director of the University of Wales Centre for Welsh and Celtic Studies and a Fellow of the British Academy. He is a prolific writer in both English and Welsh, and has been general editor of three successful series: A Social History of the Welsh Language (5 volumes; 1997-2000), The Visual Culture of Wales (3 volumes; 1998-2003) and Iolo Morganwg and the Romantic Tradition in Wales. Geraint is also the editor of Cof Cenedl, an annual publication of historical essays. He was the Head of Department of Welsh History at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, specialising in the history of early modern and modern Wales. Geraint is also a regular broadcaster on radio and television, and currently lives in Blaen-plwyf.
