altJournalist, writer, sailor and diver. Born in 1947 in Hertfordshire. Moved to Pembrokeshire in 2003 to work on her book Cevamp, Mike and Me (published by Acorns Publishing, December 2007).

Jackie’s professional background is in local newspaper journalism, followed by more than a decade as press, PR and publications officer for Thames Valley Police. While there, she was responsible for the written content of publications, edited and produced the force newspaper Thames View and waged war on jargon, resulting in the force publishing her booklet on good writing practice for police officers. Later she became national press officer for the charity Dogs for the Disabled, where she edited the magazine Outlook.

A founder member of Fishguard Acorns Writers’ Support Group, Jackie also presents writing workshops to local community groups and was a finalist in Computing Magazine’s community website of the year award in 2006.  Publishing credits include magazine articles in Dogs Today, Dive Magazine and In Full Cry and she is editor of Best Friends: the story of Dogs for the Disabled. She was published by Ottakers in their anthology Banbury in 2001 and has been accepted by Honno for inclusion in In Her Element, to be published in June 2008.

A volunteer director with the mental health charity Pembrokeshire Frame and West Wales area officer for Beagle Welfare, Jackie and her husband Mike live close to the sea in north Pembrokeshire where they enjoy exploring the hills and coast path with their two beagles, sailing and scuba diving.
