JACKSON, COLIN

Colin Jackson, the internationally renowned hurdler, was born and brought up in Cardiff. He has won three World titles, five European titles and two Commonwealth titles. His Personal Best of 12.91 seconds for the 110m hurdles was a World Record for thirteen years. He is still World Record holder for the indoor 60 metre hurdles with his time of 7.30 seconds. Colin retired at the age of 35 in 2003, and was awarded both an MBE and CBE. He is currently  coaching athletics and presenting for BBC Sport. Colin has recently written a book about the challenge of returning to a life not diominated by training and competing.
