Reviews:
With respect to Little Sacrifices (Jay Walker Writing, 2006)
“…So my winner is ’Little Sacrifices’. A story can make its point through smallness, and this story’s gentle realism, set just one step away from our present, makes it quite moving. I also responded to its comparative optimism. Congratulations to the winner and all the finalists…”
Stephen Baxter, www.powerswitch.org.uk, April 2005
With respect to Sylvie’s Inheritance (Jay Walker Writing, 2007)
“...This is not only an unusual topic; it is also a very well written piece. The test of any good story is that the reader is not able to guess the final outcome and this writer skilfully controls just how much information the reader is given as well as how and when it is revealed, while at the same time allowing the reader to come to their own conclusions, even if they are not the right ones!..”
New Horizonz website, 2006
With respect to The Dragon Bridge and other stories (Jay Walker Writing, 2007)
"...Meg Kingston is a brave venturer in a field of literature considered out of fashion - The short story. Some of her short stories are so short they might be called fables, were it not for their readability. When she allows herself greater length her vision and range increase. This is her second published collection. I await the development of her third book with great interest..."
