Josie Henley-Einion (born Josephine Henley) grew up in the Midlands and attended Bangor University, studying Psychology and Linguistics. She has worked in a variety of areas including research, health and social care and computer programming. In 2002-2005, Josie attended Manchester Metropolitan University’s online MA in Creative Writing, writing her debut novel Silence (Legend, 2008) as part of the course. This title was Waterstone’s Welsh Book of the Month for August, 2008. Josie has also published a series of short stories, including in Legend Press’ Short Stories Reinvented Series. She is also co-editor of Velvet magazine. Josie now lives in Cardiff with her civil partner Alys and their son.Reviews:

"…The novel portrays a troubled but resolute character overcoming obstacles and slowly discovering her identity...weav(ing) its web well enough to keep you turning the pages. It deals with serious stuff that is bang on the button in (contemporary life). It asks whether the media has the right to pry into other people’s lives and, ultimately, set the parameters for public judgement on the affairs of others. We come across mental illness, domestic abuse, drugs and addiction...It challenges and confronts and ask questions of you, as well as of the issues it tackles..."
