Nightmares and Dreams Competition: short stories and poems

Before we can even talk, we dream. Dreams flow around us, through our childhood years they follow us as we find out that life isn’t always a dream come true. Nightmares tag along with our dreams, colliding with them, chasing them, strong enough sometimes to turn up at the door, unannounced and waiting for us to let them in. Sometimes our nightmares are living within us, waiting for us to let them out.
For their latest competition, Winter Witch Books want you to open that door to your nightmares and dreams. Choosing Nightmare, Dream or both, create a short story or poem that will rivet your reader and make them forget the real world for a time. All winning entries will be displayed on their website for a minimum of 6 months and will be included in any suitable anthologies or themed works published between the end of the competition and December 2010. Winners will be chosen on merit, not on whether they have entered a short story or a poem.
This time, due the amount of interest from children and young people, we are separating the prizes into two parts. So, there will be winners and runners up chosen from those over 16 and those under it.
Prizes
Adults: 1st prize GBP100, 3 runners up prizes of GBP25, publication on website and inclusion in suitable anthologies and themed works.
