Avocado Magazine

Avocado is a quarterly magazine run by Heaventree and based in Coventry and Warwickshire. In previous issues, Avocado has published Les Murray, David Dabydeen, Jack Mapanje, Mario Pettrucci and Jen Hadfield. Heaventree Press considers poetry, prose, articles, reviews, interviews, photos and artworks for publication. Thwy seek work that is diverse, musical, politically aware and free thinking in terms of subject matter and ideology, and that shows an understanding of writing as a craft, and contempory art forms.

Please post work to the Heaventree Address. Please note that Heaventree no longer accepts electronic submissions. We endeavour to give feedback on unsuccessful submissions provided an SAE is enclosed. Contributors receive a complementary issue of Avocado.

They guarantee their writers a wide distribution across the Midlands and beyond. The more structured format includes sections on local writing, reviews, comment and opinion. Poems should be no more than 40 lines, prose no more than 1250 words, interviews or articles 1000 and reviews 300 (contact reviews editor for more info)
