The Parthian Carnival Project

Parthian are publishing a carnival of voices with fascinating writing from Wales, Catalonia, Germany, the Basque country, Ireland and Spain. They are based on the west coast of Wales and their writers reflect a diverse Welsh culture with a theme of good writing from novelists, poets and dramatists working in a number of European languages.

The first book in the Carnival programme was Jordi Coca’s Under the Dust which was launched in Cardiff and Barcelona in April. The next title is Caryl Lewis’s award winning Welsh novel Martha, Jack and Shanco which has been translated into English by Gwen Davies. It is Welsh book of the month in September. Caryl Lewis is currently the Hay Festival Scritture Giovanni Fellow.
