Any other information: Dalen has been established to publish some of Europe’s popular books and series in Welsh, especially comic cartoon strips - or the bande desinée (BD) - which is a massive genre on the continent. One of Dalen’s editors, Alun Ceri Jones, was responsible for translating Asterix into Welsh in the 1970s. The range of titles available as comic cartoon strips today is enormous, from books for children to books aimed at adults. We will publish for a wide cross-section of the Welsh language audience, and we hope our books will attract more adolescent and young adults to read Welsh - as well as an older audience of course - to read entertaining and amusing leisure books in Welsh. Dalen is part of Surrexit Creadigol, a creative company with a prominent position in the fields of marketing, promotion and design through the medium of Welsh for over a decade. |
