Catherine AranAward winning Storyteller and Author. Catherine graduated in Drama from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1988 and worked as an actress for a period of 8 years, including five years as one of the directing members of Cwmni Theatr Bara Caws. She began telling stories in 1999, after being appointed as the Storyteller for the Storytelling Project, Cyngor Gwynedd. By now, Catherine has travelled the length and breadth of Wales and abroad, telling stories in schools, colleges, libraries, museums, theatres and community centres. She has performed in International Festivals for Children in Aberystwyth, Galway, Kilkenny, Dublin and Calgary, Canada. She leads workshops in drama and story writing in order to promote oracy and literacy in schools and offers training in storytelling for adults and students, as well as being a guest speaker on a number of INSET courses for teachers, (she is on the list of guest speakers for WJEC). Catherine was the winner of the Arts Foundation Award 2009 in Storytelling.
